STORIES 2021 IS OPEN FOR ENTRIES
Stories seeks to discover, promote and amplify the important work being made by Australian photographers.
Stories is an annual award for photographic storytellers operated by Photo Collective. We are calling for series work and photo-essays exploring traditional, artful and new modes of storytelling which reflect our current times. While this award is open to anybody residing in Australia or Australians living abroad, the themes of the work do not need to be Australian focussed.
Stories is sponsored by Nikon Australia and Momento Pro.
We celebrate diversity. As such, in 2021 we will be seeking to reward three diverse visual narratives. The People’s Choice recipient will receive A$500 and will also feature in the Stories Journal, our online galleries, and social media platforms. Alongside these four Stories, we will also be including the top 27 shortlisted submissions in the Stories Journal. Throughout the year we will continue to share, promote and feature shortlisted Stories through our website, social media network, digital database, and blog. We are committed to providing a platform for artists to not only gain recognition through the awards process but to also be showcased through in-depth features and photographer profiles. The 2021 Stories judging committee is comprised of Australian photographic artist Kate Disher-Quill and Mags King, managing photo editor of The Sydney Morning Herald. The internal committee is made up of Photo Collective Creative Director Tom Goldner and Harriet Tarbuck alongside Content Editor Angus Scott.
